Mares Broke To Ride:

Little Daisy AKA DOT (Department of Transportation)- 2002 Tobiano Spotted Haflinger - RIDES & DRIVES!!! This gorgeous spotted Haflinger mare is breath-taking beautiful.  She has a wonderful disposition - quiet, sweet, gentle, gets along well with the other horses, and is sound and has no bad habits.  She is a very light golden sorrel and has an ivory color mane and tail with beautiful markings - tobiano and sabino coloring as well.  Her golden color looks more palomino that sorrel.  She gets compliments everywhere she goes!  This mare is a good riding horse and a good driving horse as well.   She has been driven as a team and also alone.  She has been worked in the fields and also driven on the roads.  She has been ridden all over, around traffic, on trails, etc.,   I have had a lot of fun driving her at day, night, roads, trails, and have even done some fun really crazy trails through water, across stone river beds, up and down steep hills, in the mountains, through the woods, through the middle of town, picked up Garrett at school on her, etc. She is a courageous mare that has never refused anything I have asked her to do! I have also let kids ride and drive her, too.  I (Mary Alice) even rode her bareback just two weeks after my first hip replacement.  Garrett wanted to ride that day, I was tired of being stuck in the house!  I couldn't lift the saddle to saddle her, but with some creative manuvering, I got on her bareback & Garrett and I were able to ride.  Very special day, and it takes a whole lot of trust to be able to get on any horse two weeks after a hip replacement, when I could not even walk without crutches! She is awesome mare!   She is extremely loyal to those who treat her well and love her.  She is affectionate, loves to be groomed, and knows when she looks good.   She has very smooth movement.  She would be a fabulous dressage or hunt club horse as she is extremely athletic, has a very natural perfect headset, and is extremely intelligent and a very willing learner.  She is also an awesome cross country driving horse and would enjoy competitions of that nature, and she would do very well, too!  She would also be a fabulous "husband" horse!  She stands 14.3 hands, but she is so stout that anyone could ride her and not feel like they were riding a pony.  Gary takes her on trail rides and she goes all day with him with absolutely no problems. She loads and travels well alone or with other horses.  She is not picky about her grain (she likes that a lot and does best in a structured feeding environment).  She is not picky about her hay.  However, when she travels, she is sensitive to water with different odors.  We discovered this when we took her to a horse friendly bed and breakfast that had sulfur in the water.  She did not like the water.  We simply rode her to a creek and she drank the fresh water there.  That is the only time we have had a problem, and the water was really stinky!  But, I wanted to make sure her new owner would know so appropriate accomodations for her water could be made if needed.  She stands well for fhe farrier and has excellent ground manners.  You can ride or drive her all day, and she will be the first one to meet you at the gate the next day - she loves to ride and drive, doesn't get sour, and absolutely loves attention.  She sells exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for her 2012 foal!  We usually ride and drive her during the early stages of pregnancy.  However, she gets a BIG belly when she is in foal.  It is uncomfortable to her to ride when she is showing heavy.  She gets tired easy.  And, she is fine for riding after the foal.  Her foals have been popular with our customers, they are very athletic, excellent conformation, beautiful color, and great minded.  They have been used for beginner 4-H projects, one is in roping training, and the youngest will be a youth project next year.  She is an excellent mother, friendly, easy to catch, sound, extremely intelligent, and easily adapts no new areas in riding and driving.  She is not nervous  or spooky in new areas.  She can stay in the pasture for months, catch her, and take her for a ride or drive and she behaves like she has been ridden every day. She is exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for 2012. $3,500

HRLincoln Mark I (Harlequins Lincoln x Bonanza Bar Cooley) April 1997.  Please link here for pedigree.  Black Tobiano Mare, Homozygous tobiano.  This nice stout black and white homozygous mare is a fabulous producer.  She consistently produces nice, stout, big foals with great potential!  This mare has a wonderful foundation APHA pedigree.  And, she is broke to ride.  She is one of Gary's favorite horses to ride!  $2,000

Lady Belle Poco (Pepsi Poco x Lady Bay, by Oklahoma Star) 1997 Sorrel Tobiano Mare.  This nice stout daughter of Pepsi Poco is broke to ride.  She has a good disposition and is quiet and gentle to handle. She is exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for 2012. $3,000

Cadillac Whispering (Champagne Cadillac x Whispering Duchess) 2001 Champagne/Buckskin AQHA Mare.  Her sire, Champagne Cadillac, has an amazing show record, including 2X PHBA WORLD CHAMPION, 3X RES. WORLD CHAMPION, 450+ AQHA/PHBA Halter points, 120+ AQHA/PHBA GRAND and Res. Grand Championships, PHBA SUPERIOR Halter-Open and Amateur,6 HONOR ROLL Titles, AQHA ROM's Halter, Multiple MQHA Hi-Point Titles.  Her paternal grandsire, My Skip Vanzi, is an AQHA SUPERIOR Halter Stallion with 52 Halter pts, is a PHBA WORLD CHAMPION & 1999 Equistat Leading Halter Sire. His Dam is an OWN Daughter of "Dandy Seeker" (Superior Halter Horse w/ 58 Halter pts, 8 Performance pts, an AQHA Champion Sire, World Champion Sire and High Point Sire).  This mare has even more fabulous halter and performance earners and producers in her pedigree.  She sells exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for her 2012 dilute foal.  This foal should have one of a kind color and pedigree!  Additionally, this mare is broke to ride.  She rides quiet and gentle.  She is a quiet, easy going mare with a wonderful disposition.  She loves attention!  This mare is one of Mary Alice's personal horses. This mare is only offered for sale because Mary Alice's health issues kept her from riding and enjoying her horses for the last several months.  This mare is too nice to be a pasture ornament!  She deserves a home where she is ridden, used, and her potential is achieved.  She is exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for 2012. $3,250

Zoe - Aged Black Mare.  RIDES and DRIVES!!! Zoe is the perfect horse for an inexperienced rider or someone learning to drive.  I have more experience than confidence when driving a horse!  I LOVE to drive this mare. She is an older mare, I am guessing close to 20 years old.  But, given my lack of confidence in driving, my philosophy is that an old horse is a cheap insurance policy!  Zoe is the last of the horses I have been able to use, which says the most anyone could say about her!  Despite health issues, I have always been able to hitch and drive her without any problems.  She stands quietly to be hitched.  She follows every direction while driving.  She is not nervous, but has plenty of energy and absolutely loves to go for a drive!  She is not sour, irritable, or difficult at all.  Even friends that have never driven a horse, and Garrett, drive her.  Last spring I drive her for around seven miles in one afternoon and she trotted up the last hill home, quietly walked down the driveway, and was waiting to go for a drive the next day!  I am sure she has some arthritis, as most older horses do, but she moves well and enjoys being used.  I purchased this mare from the Amish as a trustworthy driving horse and she has never disappointed!  On my last outing with the horses, I was able to drive her several miles to pick up Garrett from school. What an exciting surprise for Garrett and a great day for me!  Of course, he was able to drop off his friends in the neighborhood by horse and buggy, with parents waiting on the porch with cameras!  This mare created priceless memories that will last a lifetime.  I have driven this mare over high bridges with low rails... scared the poo out of me, but she looked at me like, "What are you so worried about!"  I have driven her through heavy traffic, waited in the school line to pick up Garrett, used her for family outtings, and have enjoyed every single opportunity I have had to drive her!   She has been out on pasture all summer. She is not thin, but she is not as heavy as I like to keep her.  She has enjoyed being on pasture, but I like to keep her in a smaller pasture of few acres and feed her each day.  If you plan on using her often, that is probably the best plan for maintaining her.  She is not on any medications.  I make sure her teeth are floated a couple of times a year, and her teeth stay in good shape.  I also worm her every three months because she is an older mare.  Otherwise, she requires no special care or maintenance.  And, "Zoe" - life - is her perfect name!  When I am driving her, I feel the joy in every single moment.  Clearly she is a special part of our family, and she will be a very special part of the family in her new home as well.  She is not a particular horse, so I am believe she will adjust well, and even be happier, in her new home where she is used and enjoyed often.  I may only have a chance to drive her a few times a year, but she is exactly the same, dependable, quiet, well-behaved buddy every time I take her out!  I haven't ridden her myself, but some kids rode her around the farm one day.  She rides very gentle, plow reins, and doesn't do anything fancy, but does the very best thing - behaves dependibly and faithfully every time!  $1,250

Erastus Tim's Kira AKA "Big Daisy II". (Birky's Pride 1st Timothy x Erastus Luke's Diana) 2004 Clydesdale Overo Mare.  This beautiful Clydesdale mare has a large overo stomach spot.  She has a fabulous disposition, is sweet, gentle, easy to catch, and absolutely loves attention.  She is broke to ride and to drive!  This mare is simply a pleasure to be around in every way.  She is happy, content, friendly, easy going and a true one of a kind horse.  I love this horse and the happiness she brings to everyone she encounters!  She believes she is the official greeter of the farm, giving love to everyone who walks in the pasture.  Her beautiful feathering, unusal markings, and personality make her really stand out.  She is a big mare, but also very athletic.  She is already a nice trail horse.  She would also make a beautiful show horse.  She has absolutely gorgeous movement!  She is exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for 2012.  $3,250

QTS Easter Holly Glo (Q T Poco Streke x  Hollys Ghost)  This mare is a full sister to QTS Amaretto (ROM in reining, NRHA money earner), sired by Q T Poco Streke and out of Hollys Ghost, an APHA ROM producer and a NRHA money earning producer.  Holly's Ghost is a full sister to My Genes Are Tight (AQHA World Show Prodocuer, AQHA ROM Producer in reining and working cow horse).  She also has Holly 7 John on her papers twice.  Holly 7 John is a full brother to Hollywood Jac 86 (NRHA Hall of Fame, World Champion, NRHA Monely Earner, Halter Point Earner, Million Dollar Reining Sire, and more, also the sire of Hollywood Dun It).  Her dam's fabulous 5 generation pedigree includes Q T Poco Streke, Pepsi Poco, Beau Shoshone, Q Ton Ace H, Q Ton Eagle, Leo San Man, Holly 7 John, (two times), Easter King (Million Dollar Reining Sire, etc. - two Times), Holly Smoke (Million Dollar Reining Producer. etc. - two times), Mr. Joe Glo and her six generation pedigree includes King (two times), Hollywood Gold (two times), and Poco Bueno!  This mare herself is also a producer of offspring earning Halter and Performance Points. And, her foals have been extremely marketable, with her first foal selling for $10,000  as a weanling and going on to have an extremely successful performance and halter show career. She is an excellent broodmare, and also a really nice riding horse!   7,500

Nifty Natalee    (Bye Bingo x Poco Nifty) 1999 Grulla and White Tobiano APHA mare. Link here for pedigree information. She has an awesome pedigree with absolutely no holes in it - the very best of foundation Paint breeding! This foundation bred gorgeous mare is absolutely one of our favorite horses.  She has beautiful color and a fancy pattern that she passes on to her foals.  She is sired by Bye Bingo, who was a fabulous broodmare sire.  His foals consistently carry unusual patterns and pass these fancy patterns onto their foals.  Natalee has produced beautiful horses for us on a consistent basis.  She is an excellent mother, takes good care of her foals, and has a pleasant, easy going disposition.  Natalie injured her right front foot as a weanling.  Her owner at the time attempted to have the injury repaired through expensive surgery at a university veterinarian hospital, which actually aggrivated her injury.  This injury has not interferred with her ability to successfully move with the herd or get around in the pasture.  Natalie has a beautiful sentimental history.  Natalie was part of Don Allgood's selective herd of horses at the time of his death.  Don loved his horses, and Natalee was one of his favorites,  Don raised some of the very best foundation bred APHA horses and was one of the original breeders of foundation Paints, focusung on quality, pedigree, color and disposition.  Every time we visitied Don, he let me go visit Natalee.  He knew I wanted her and I was willing to pay a high price.  But, he wasn't interested in selling.  He prized Natalee and felt she was the perfect example of the quality horse that he had bred for his entire life.  The last time we visited Don, I asked him again if he would be interested in selling Natalee.  Of course, he declined my offer.  But, he said that I would have her before I knew it.  I thought it was a strange comment.  But, sadly, Don passed away a few weeks after that visit.  A few days after his death, we were contacted by his wife who told us that Don wanted us to purchase his herd of horses to continue the breeding program he had worked so many years to establish.  What a kind and generous thought.  We were able to purchase his entire herd.  Many of those horses are still here on our farm.  And, we are offering some for sale because we significantly downsizing.  It is hard to let Natalee go, but I am simply not able to get out and enjoy the horses much due to my illness. Natalee loves attention, is quiet and easy to handle.  Even though she has the injured front foot, I was able to ride her when she was younger.  Of course, she enjoyed a quiet trail ride as much as I did!  Natalee never bucked or acted up while I broke her to ride.  And, interestingly, every one of her foals started riding exactly the same way.  A wonderful example of one of her foals is Nifty Blue - gorgeous, athletic, intellegent, and a quick and willing learner. Her foals have always been marketable and have had excellent success.  She is exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for an early 2012 foal.   A piece of my heart, and a piece of APHA history follows Natalee.  She is certainly a one of a kind horse! She sells exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for 2012.  $6,750

NIFTY BLUE - Grulla & White Homozygous Tobiano Filly (MKS Magic Johnson x Nifty Natalie, sired by Bye Bingo) April 8, 2008.  DOUBLE HOMOZYGOUS - homozygous tobiano & homozygous for black!  Link here for pedigree informations.  She has a fabulous foundation Paint pedigree, full of proven performers and producers!   This fabulous chocolate grulla/smokey black and white mare is homozygous for the tobiano gene. Her color is interesting and changes with the seasons.  She is a little more chocolate colored in the winter, which I absolutely love - this is the color that produces the beautiful chocolate paints.  In the spring, she sheds out to a dark blue grulla, and in the summer her coat looks more silver grulla.  She is out of one of our very best mares that consistently produces muscled, athletic, and gorgeous foals with the very best dispositions.  This mare has strong primative markings and was born with brindling in her dun factors, but as her color has darkened, they are now difficult to see.   She is a fabulous halter or performance program, and a very unique addition to a breeding program.  She has one blue eye,and the other eye is mostly dark, with a small amount of blue.  This mare is broke to ride.  And, she has excelled in her training. She has beautiful movement and wants to please.  She is very strong in picking up both leads.  She has been ridden in an arena, on trails, used for farm work, and is now being finished for ranch horse competitions.  This fancy young mare has the mind, ability, and proven pedigree excell as a finished show mare, or a one of a kind trail horses. She has grown into an awesome mare, with the best of her sire and dam's abilities.  And, a horse that everyone in the family can enjoy.  On  nice days, Garrett is proud to be picked up from the bus and ride Nifty home.  She has been trail ridden all over the farm, rough riding throguh the brush, up and down rocky hills, through water, and used to round up the herd.  She goes wherever she is asked to go without hesitation.  Spencer uses her as the primary ranch horse, checking the herd, working around the farm, and so she is ridden every day.  He has enjoyed working with her so much that he now as her riding with just a rope around her neck.  Spencer has finished her for ranch horse competition and if she is not sold before spring, she will begin her show career in ranch horse competition.  She is a lot of fun to be around in every way, pleasant and enjoyable for the entire family.  Even though Mary Alice has difficulty riding now, this mare is quiet, gentle, and so eager to please that she makes Mary Alice want to try to hit the show ring again this year, too!  Mary Alice uses her for her therpeutic riding when she is able to get out and ride.  And, a horse has to be 100% quiet and gentle for Mary Alice to ride. Nifty has not once given anything but her best and really takes care of her rider.  As the photos show, she is a wonderful companion, bonded to those who care for her.  Nifty is a horse that makes anyone who likes horses want to get out and ride!  Nifty was raised by us and has never been treated with anything but kindness.  She has not been mistreated and has been trained using only natural horsemanship methods.  And, the kindness she has been shown in her life reflects in her loving attitude toward the people around her.  She llikes to be riden, is an intelligent horse, and she never seems to get bored, even when Garrett is riding her around and around and around... he doesn't seem to get tired of riding her!  She is alert, attentive, listening, but relaxed when riding quietly.  She will really pick up and work when it comes time to perform, too.  She neck reins, backs, picks up both leads, is well collected, and could easily excell in both pleasure and performance.  She really is the unique combination of a wonderful disposition, beautiful color, versitile ability, and companion.  She is exposed to Drus Nike for her 2012 foal.   $4,250

2009 Palomino Solid APHA Mare (Jacs Little Colonel x Twist of Grace) Mary Alice has saved this young mare back for herself.  However, she is being offered for sale as Mary Alice's health prevents her from spending time with the horses.  This young mare's sire is an absolutely gorgeous perlino AQHA stallion that was part of our breeding program for several years.  When crossed on one of Mary Alice's favorite mares, Twist of Grace, this gorgeous palomino filly resulted.  This filly has great potential for halter or performance, particularly western or english pleasure, reining, cutting, trail riding - she has a lot of versitility in her pedigree and abilities.  Twist of Grace was ridden and shown by all levels of riders.  She put her beautiful movement on her foals, including a naturally correct head set, as you can see in the photos of this young mare, wonderful conformation, and a smooth jog that you can ride all day without being sore!  As you can see in the photos, this filly is starting to fill out in her hip and shoulders.  And, take a look at the photos of her dam and you will see what she will mature to be - an extremely stout, well muscled horse with excellent conformation.  This young filly has had ground work done, she has been saddled a few times, and she is ready to start her training under saddle.  You can also see her half sister, Diva Devine, to see how her dam's offspring fill out as they mature. This mare has a personality like her dam - she doesn't immediately warm up to new people, but when she gets to know you, she is extremely loyal and committed.  Her sire has a fabulous pedigree as well!  Her paternal grandfather,CG Colonel Jac,  is a gorgeous, stout, proven halter and performance producer who is a multiple world champion, also earning $10,000 in the NRHA himself! Her paternal pedigree also includes such great horses as Triple Colonel (AQHA ROM, 21.5 pts, NRHA LTE $5,628), Royal Jodie Bar (dam of 7 money and/or pt earners), Colonel Freckles (1976 NCHA Futurity Champion), Jacs Little Pine (NRHA LTE $35,000+, and AQHA Performance ROM and much more), Jacs Little Flower (producer of NRHA earners of over $40,000), Kaliflower (producer of AQHA ROM, World Show, and NRHA ME offspring), Kaliman (AQHA Top Ten World Show, Superior Halter, AQHA Performance ROM & champion, NRHA ME, & is a producer!),  Hollywood Jac 86 (80 AQHA pts, AQHA World show champion, halter pt earner, Hall Of Fame & Hall of Fame producer, & much more), and Barts Jet Shi (AQHA ROM performance offspring).  This young mare has tons of potential in any disciple.  This mare sells on breeder's certificate.  She has been saddled. but has not been ridden, so she is ready to start your way!   $2,000

Buggy and Harness can be purchased with her for an additional $1,000.  I am not so good a describing buggies, but I will do my best!  The buggy is a sturdy black four wheeled buggy with rubber around the wooden wheels.  It needs a few minor repairs that about anyone could do, like a snap replaced on the shaft.  But, we have used it for years as it is.  The paint is a bit worn, and the buggy has some character!  There is a large seat in the front of the buggy that can seat two adults and a child comfortably.  When Garrett was a baby, I nailed a bouncy seat into the floorboard by my feet, with plenty of room for both of us and one of my friends to buggy one crisp winter morning!  The harness was handmade by the Amish.  I have had a few repairs done on the harness as needed. It has some unique Amish hand-painted quilt designs on the blinders and other Amish touches.  It has been dependable and doesn't rub sores on any of the horses that have used it.  Both harness and buggy have fit light draft horses, my haflinger mare, and standard size horses without rubbing sores or causing discomfort for any of the horses. I often decorate the buggy for holidays and there are still some decorations on the buggy.  I prefer to sell the buggy and harness together as they are complete together and fit the same size of horse.  $1,000 for Buggy and harness.
