Lola Frankenhorse (Friscos Doc Holiday x Seldom Seen Kitty Oh) 2002 Black Tobiano Mare, Homozygous for Tobiano. Link here for pedigree information. Lola has been on our farm her entire life. Lola's Mother rejected her at birth. Mary Alice raised Lola on a bottle. Lola developed a serious infection in her face at a few days old. Mary Alice spent hours and hours feeding Lola. And, thousands and thousands on vet bills to save her! But, we had never seen any horse with as much spunk and spirit as Lola, and as long as she was willing to fight, we did whatever we could to help her. Lola was so spoiled as a baby ! She would lay down on Mary Alice's lap turn over on her back with her belly up and head in Mary Alice's arms, and make sucking noises until Mary Alice would feed her. And, Lola would not allow anyone but Mary Alice feed her. It didn't make much sense at the time, and we thought having a baby couldn't be much more work than caring for Lola, sleeping in the barn with her during those cold Indiana late Winter nights, feeding her every few hours.... It was excellent preparation for our own child, Garrett, who arrived the next Spring! We socialized Lola with the other foals when she was old enough, and she is certainly the princess of the farm. She was left with scars on her face and she lost part of her lip on the left side (we already know Mary Alice has a dark sense of humor, resulting in Lola's unique name), but otherwise has shown no signs of long term problems and is happy horse! We do not use halters on Lola as we never want to aggrivate her scars. However, she leads with a rope around her neck, or she simply follows! She has consistently produces gorgeous foals for us without any complications. And, even though she had a negligent biological mom, Lola is the most loving and protective of all of our mares. She never has any problems with us handling her foals, but she watches them so closely! We are very proud of the strong horse Lola is today, and that courage, affectionate behavior, and close relationship with people she had as a foal is still part of her personality today, and a part of her personality she passes on to her foals. We have never considered selling Lola before. She is very bonded with us, we enjoy her, and we enjoy the memories we have with her. However, since Mary Alice has been ill, Lola has not gotten the attention she deserves. When Mary Alice was able, we had kids out to the farm quite frequently and we often used Lola as an example of how important it is to not judge people, or horses, by their "scars". She loves the attention, any attention, she can get from people! We were also very careful to teach Lola to respect personal space and boundaries, as often bottle raised foals will interact with people like other horses, which can lead to injuries. She loves attention but respects space and has good ground manners. Lola sells exposed to MKS Majic Johnson for a homozygous tobiano foal in 2012. The foal will also carry the creme gene (it will be a smokey black, buckskin, or grulla). Lola has a beautiful head, good strong feet, clean legs, a beautiful long neck and beautiful paint markings. She is an easy keeper and requires no special care - she runs with the rest of the herd. However, she is clearly lonely for the attention of people. Since Mary Alice's illness has progress and she is not able to go for walks and interact with the horses, as she had in the past, Lola waits for attention, and does what she can to get attention any time she sees Mary Alice outside. And, it is so disappointing to not be able to give Lola the attention she enjoys. It has been difficult to come to the decision to sell Lola. We are very attached to her and have really come to love the uniqueness in her looks and personality. However, Lola is such a sweet horse. She deserves to be in a home where she will be loved and given the affection she craves. She has a fun, unique, quirky personality and she will be a wonderful companion for a child or anyone who enjoys interacting with horses. And, she will produce gorgeous foals with an excellent pedigree. We have priced Lola much cheaper than other homozygous mares due to the scars. However, we want Lola to go to a good home where she will be loved and appreciated. Please do not buy Lola because she is priced lower than the other horses... buy her because you love horses, you see the beauty in her uniqueness, and you truly enjoy owning or raising horses. . $1,000

She consistently produces great foals, with good minds, and excellent athletic ability. She has thrown her grulla coloring on most of her foals. We sold one of her sons, who was a grulla and white stallion, to Texas this year and he is being shown competively there. This mare has the potential to produce world champion athletes with gorgeous color and great minds. She is a one of a kind mare. She is an easy keeper, easy to handle, never in trouble, and gets along well with all of the other horses in the herd. We could not say enough good things about this mare. Nifty Natalee (Bye Bingo x Poco Nifty) 1999 Grulla and White Tobiano APHA mare. Link here for pedigree information. She has an awesome pedigree with absolutely no holes in it - the very best of foundation Paint breeding! This gorgeous mare is absolutely one of our favorite horses. She has beautiful color and a fancy pattern that she passes on to her foals. She is sired by Bye Bingo, who was a fabulous broodmare sire. His foals consistently carry unusual patterns and pass these fancy patterns onto their foals. Natalee has produced beautiful horses for us on a consistent basis. She is an excellent mother, takes good care of her foals, and has a pleasant, easy going disposition. Natalie injured her right front foot as a weanling. Her owner at the time attempted to have the injury repaired through expensive surgery at a university veterinarian hospital, which actually aggrivated her injury. This injury has not interferred with her ability to successfully move with the herd or get around in the pasture. Natalie has a beautiful sentimental history. Natalie was part of Don Allgood's selective herd of horses at the time of his death. Don loved his horses, and Natalee was one of his favorites, Don raised some of the very best foundation bred APHA horses and was one of the original breeders of foundation Paints, focusung on quality, pedigree, color and disposition. Every time we visitied Don, he let me go visit Natalee. He knew I wanted her and I was willing to pay a high price. But, he wasn't interested in selling. He prized Natalee and felt she was the perfect example of the quality horse that he had bred for his entire life. The last time we visited Don, I asked him again if he would be interested in selling Natalee. Of course, he declined my offer. But, he said that I would have her before I knew it. I thought it was a strange comment. But, sadly, Don passed away a few weeks after that visit. A few days after his death, we were contacted by his wife who told us that Don wanted us to purchase his herd of horses to continue the breeding program he had worked so many years to establish. What a kind and generous thought. We were able to purchase his entire herd. Many of those horses are still here on our farm. And, we are offering some for sale because we significantly downsizing. It is hard to let Natalee go, but I am simply not able to get out and enjoy the horses much due to my illness. Natalee loves attention, is quiet and easy to handle. Even though she has the injured front foot, I was able to ride her when she was younger. Of course, she enjoyed a quiet trail ride as much as I did! Natalee never bucked or acted up while I broke her to ride. And, interestingly, every one of her foals started riding exactly the same way. A wonderful example of one of her foals is Nifty Blue - gorgeous, athletic, intellegent, and a quick and willing learner. Her foals have always been marketable and have had excellent success. She sells exposed to MKS Majic Johnson for 2012. A piece of my heart, and a piece of APHA history follows Natalee. She is certainly a one of a kind horse! Natalee is one of the select personal horses Mary Alice is offering for sale. The price is not negoatiable, we are not interested in accepting trades, and we are not interested in payments. She is priced for a straight forward cash sale. If you have additional questions, please contact Gary at (317)796-2791. $5,000

2009 Palomino Solid APHA Mare (Jacs Little Colonel x Twist of Grace) Mary Alice has saved this young mare back for herself. However, she is being offered for sale as Mary Alice's health prevents her from spending time with the horses. This young mare's sire is an absolutely gorgeous perlino AQHA stallion that was part of our breeding program for several years. When crossed on one of Mary Alice's favorite mares, Twist of Grace, this gorgeous palomino filly resulted. This filly has great potential for halter or performance, particularly western or english pleasure, reining, cutting, trail riding - she has a lot of versitility in her pedigree and abilities. Twist of Grace was ridden and shown by all levels of riders. She put her beautiful movement on her foals, including a naturally correct head set, as you can see in the photos of this young mare, wonderful conformation, and a smooth jog that you can ride all day without being sore! As you can see in the photos, this filly is starting to fill out in her hip and shoulders. And, take a look at the photos of her dam and you will see what she will mature to be - an extremely stout, well muscled horse with excellent conformation. This young filly has had ground work done, she has been saddled a few times, and she is ready to start her training under saddle. You can also see her half sister, Diva Devine, to see how her dam's offspring fill out as they mature. This young mare has tons of potential in anyThis mare sells on breeder's certificate. $2,000
Cutta Turn Kitty (Spur and Turn x Mocha Kitty) 2000 Buckskin Tobiano Mare.Link here for pedigree information.
Little Daisy AKA DOT (Department of Transportation)- 2002 Tobiano Spotted Haflinger - RIDES & DRIVES!!! This gorgeous spotted Haflinger mare is breath-taking beautiful. She has a wonderful disposition - quiet, sweet, gentle, gets along well with the other horses, and is sound and has no bad habits. She is a very light golden sorrel and has an ivory color mane and tail with beautiful markings - tobiano and sabino coloring as well. Her golden color looks more palomino that sorrel. She gets compliments everywhere she goes! This mare is a good riding horse and a good driving horse as well. She has been driven as a team and also alone. She has been worked in the fields and also driven on the roads. She has been ridden all over, around traffic, on trails, etc., I have had a lot of fun driving her at day, night, roads, trails, and have even done some fun really crazy trails through water, across stone river beds, up and down steep hills, in the mountains, through the woods, through the middle of town, picked up Garrett at school on her, etc. She is a courageous mare that has never refused anything I have asked her to do! I have also let kids ride and drive her, too. I (Mary Alice) even rode her bareback just two weeks after my first hip replacement. Garrett wanted to ride that day, I was tired of being stuck in the house! I couldn't lift the saddle to saddle her, but with some creative manuvering, I got on her bareback & Garrett and I were able to ride. Very special day, and it takes a whole lot of trust to be able to get on any horse two weeks after a hip replacement, when I could not even walk without crutches! She is awesome mare! She is extremely loyal to those who treat her well and love her. She is affectionate, loves to be groomed, and knows when she looks good. She has very smooth movement. She would be a fabulous dressage or hunt club horse as she is extremely athletic, has a very natural perfect headset, and is extremely intelligent and a very willing learner. She is also an awesome cross country driving horse and would enjoy competitions of that nature, and she would do very well, too! She would also be a fabulous "husband" horse! She stands 14.3 hands, but she is so stout that anyone could ride her and not feel like they were riding a pony. Gary takes her on trail rides and she goes all day with him with absolutely no problems. She loads and travels well alone or with other horses. She is not picky about her grain (she likes that a lot and does best in a structured feeding environment). She is not picky about her hay. However, when she travels, she is sensitive to water with different odors. We discovered this when we took her to a horse friendly bed and breakfast that had sulfur in the water. She did not like the water. We simply rode her to a creek and she drank the fresh water there. That is the only time we have had a problem, and the water was really stinky! But, I wanted to make sure her new owner would know so appropriate accomodations for her water could be made if needed. She stands well for fhe farrier and has excellent ground manners. You can ride or drive her all day, and she will be the first one to meet you at the gate the next day - she loves to ride and drive, doesn't get sour, and absolutely loves attention. She sells exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for her 2012 foal! We usually ride and drive her during the early stages of pregnancy. However, she gets a BIG belly when she is in foal. It is uncomfortable to her to ride when she is showing heavy. She gets tired easy. And, she is fine for riding after the foal. Her foals have been popular with our customers, they are very athletic, excellent conformation, beautiful color, and great minded. They have been used for beginner 4-H projects, one is in roping training, and the youngest will be a youth project next year. She is an excellent mother, friendly, easy to catch, sound, extremely intelligent, and easily adapts no new areas in riding and driving. She is not nervous or spooky in new areas. She can stay in the pasture for months, catch her, and take her for a ride or drive and she behaves like she has been ridden every day. She is exposed to MKS Magic Johnson for 2012. $3,500

Zoe - Aged Black Mare. RIDES and DRIVES!!! Zoe is the perfect horse for an inexperienced rider or someone learning to drive. I have more experience than confidence when driving a horse! I LOVE to drive this mare. She is an older mare, I am guessing close to 20 years old. But, given my lack of confidence in driving, my philosophy is that an old horse is a cheap insurance policy! Zoe is the last of the horses I have been able to use, which says the most anyone could say about her! Despite health issues, I have always been able to hitch and drive her without any problems. She stands quietly to be hitched. She follows every direction while driving. She is not nervous, but has plenty of energy and absolutely loves to go for a drive! She is not sour, irritable, or difficult at all. Even friends that have never driven a horse, and Garrett, drive her. Last spring I drive her for around seven miles in one afternoon and she trotted up the last hill home, quietly walked down the driveway, and was waiting to go for a drive the next day! I am sure she has some arthritis, as most older horses do, but she moves well and enjoys being used. I purchased this mare from the Amish as a trustworthy driving horse and she has never disappointed! On my last outing with the horses, I was able to drive her several miles to pick up Garrett from school. What an exciting surprise for Garrett and a great day for me! Of course, he was able to drop off his friends in the neighborhood by horse and buggy, with parents waiting on the porch with cameras! This mare created priceless memories that will last a lifetime. I have driven this mare over high bridges with low rails... scared the poo out of me, but she looked at me like, "What are you so worried about!" I have driven her through heavy traffic, waited in the school line to pick up Garrett, used her for family outtings, and have enjoyed every single opportunity I have had to drive her! She has been out on pasture all summer. She is not thin, but she is not as heavy as I like to keep her. She has enjoyed being on pasture, but I like to keep her in a smaller pasture of few acres and feed her each day. If you plan on using her often, that is probably the best plan for maintaining her. She is not on any medications. I make sure her teeth are floated a couple of times a year, and her teeth stay in good shape. I also worm her every three months because she is an older mare. Otherwise, she requires no special care or maintenance. And, "Zoe" - life - is her perfect name! When I am driving her, I feel the joy in every single moment. Clearly she is a special part of our family, and she will be a very special part of the family in her new home as well. She is not a particular horse, so I am believe she will adjust well, and even be happier, in her new home where she is used and enjoyed often. I may only have a chance to drive her a few times a year, but she is exactly the same, dependable, quiet, well-behaved buddy every time I take her out! I haven't ridden her myself, but some kids rode her around the farm one day. She rides very gentle, plow reins, and doesn't do anything fancy, but does the very best thing - behaves dependibly and faithfully every time! $1,250
